Call to Action: Help Protect Your Child’s Health

The alarming truth about our children is more than half are not active enough for healthy growth and development. A lack of physical activity is contributing to the escalating numbers (greater than 25%) of young Canadians between 2 and 17 years of age who are overweight or obese. Overweight children tend to become overweight adults. This can lead to more serious long-term health problems like heart disease, diabetes and some types of cancer.

Active children and youth enjoy life, handle stress better and have high self-esteem. What great reasons to encourage your child to have an active lifestyle!

An active lifestyle starts at any age. Active living means taking part in physical activity everyday...throughout life!
