Physical Activity: What are the BENEFITS for my Children?

There are plenty! Taking part in physical activity is necessary for overall health and wellbeing and enhances healthy growth and development in a number of ways:

  • Helps achieve and maintain a healthy weight
  • Promotes good posture and balance
  • Improves fitness level
  • Strengthens the heart
  • Builds a foundation for more advanced skills later in childhood and youth
  • Improves concentration and may improve academic performance
  • Creates a life long enjoyment of being active
